Welcome to the Prime Time Shootout section of the GMC Hoops web site. The Prime Time Shootout, which was started by Jeff Hewitson in 1977, actually began as a small local showcase event at St. Peter's High School in New Brunswick called the Eastern States Invitational Classic.

In that very first showcase, there were only eight schools that competed throughout New Jersey. However, the event has grown tremendously in the last 28 years, and particularly over the last ten to fifteen seasons.

This year there were four GMC teams competing in the event. The list of teams playing include solid programs from not just in New Jersey, but throughout the country including St. Anthony's, St. Patrick's, Rice, Christ the King, Oak Hill Academy, St. Vincent-St. Mary's, Bishop O'Connell, Rochester East, Niagara Falls, Westchester (Los Angeles), Mount Vernon (New York), Frederick Douglas Academy (New York City), and Vashon (St. Louis, MO), the top ranked team in the country according to the USA Today.

Here you will find schedules, info on the teams participating and competing, results of other games played, summary of the weekend events, photos, and summaries on specific games such as Colonia losing to Blair Academy, 73-59, St. Peter's being routed by Haddonfield, 99-30, and St. Joseph's defeating Rochester East, 78-68. This year's games were played at South Brunswick (on day one), and at Sovereign Bank Arena (Days Two, Three, and Four).
